Senior Consultant Tanya Purves Appointed Deputy Regional Lead for Women in Transport Scotland

We’re delighted to announce that Tanya Purves, one of our Senior Consultants, has been appointed as the new Deputy Regional Lead for Women in Transport Scotland. This is a proud moment for us at Mercury3 Consult, and a testament to both Tanya’s leadership and the values we hold as a company.

Tanya has been part of the Mercury3 Consult team for over five years, leading on rail projects across infrastructure development, sustainability, accessibility, diversity, and emerging technologies. Her path into the transport industry began with an internship at Network Rail, and then she joined the Mercury3 Consult team as a graduate.

Today, Tanya is a trusted project manager, collaborating with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to drive innovation and improvements in rail. She particularly enjoys engaging with people across the industry, learning how different teams operate, and sharing lessons learned and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Women in Transport is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering women in the industry to maximise their potential. Maïlys Garden, the Scotland Regional lead at Women in Transport, shares:

Tanya Purves joined Women in Transport in 2019 through Mercury3 Consult’s corporate membership with the organisation, keen to expand her network and explore the career support available for women in the sector. Over the years, she’s embraced the opportunities to learn and share experiences about the challenges and positive changes shaping the future of transport.

I am excited to take on the role of Deputy Regional Lead and begin fostering community engagement, coordinating local initiatives, and supporting the career growth of women in the transport industry within the Scotland region. With the Regional Lead, I look forward to creating a more inclusive and connected industry, where everyone can thrive.
