This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” reminds us that collective action is key to creating a more sustainable future, and our team is proud to be part of that journey.
To mark Earth Day, we invited colleagues across Mercury3 Consult to share personal and professional commitments as part of our Virtual Sustainability Pledge Wall 🌱
From reducing single-use plastics to embracing greener journeys and cutting energy use, our people are making thoughtful, meaningful commitments to a healthier planet.
Today, we’re also proud to reflect on Mercury3 Consult’s journey toward sustainability. Last summer, we achieved a major milestone by becoming officially carbon neutral, offsetting 24.44 tonnes of emissions produced through our operations.
This is just the beginning. In partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain developed a Carbon Reduction Plan and remain committed to reducing our footprint as part of our long-term goals to minimise emissions and create lasting impact.

As the Lead of the Social Value Team, I’m committed to driving meaningful change through our Environmental Pillar. I pledge to lead by example—reducing my own plastic use & promoting more sustainable practices across our projects & daily operations. I’ll continue to support initiatives that reduce our carbon footprint & engage our team in conversations & actions that contribute to a greener, more responsible future. Every action matters, and I’m proud to be part of the journey toward a more sustainable world.
Paul Gill

I pledge to repair, reuse & upcycle items instead of buying new. I want to get better at sewing & upcycling furniture, it’s great for the planet & stops items from ending up in landfill. E.g. for clothing items, shop in my own wardrobe to ensure I’m getting the most out of my clothes instead of following trends & adding to the toxic waste behind fast fashion.

I pledge to continue using Vinted / Facebook Marketplace to buy clothing/goods as much as possible. By doing this, I feel that I’m helping to prevent unwanted items from going to waste, whilst saving myself a few quid in the process which as a Yorkshireman, is never a bad thing.

I pledge to walk more and drive less for trips that are close to me, such as going to the shop. Doing so, will benefit both the planet and my wellbeing, by reducing carbon emissions from short journeys.

I pledge to be more conscious and, as a result, take action to reduce the waste I produce. From excessive packaging on certain products in a supermarket to unnecessarily using a car for a short journey when I could easily walk, I will endeavour to use more sustainable methods to reduce the impact on the planet of my carbon footprint.
