Leading the Way: Christian Stickland Earns CIRO Fellow Status
Congratulations to our Head of Technical Services, Christian Stickland, on being awarded Fellow status by the Chartered Institute of Railway Operators (CIRO)! This prestigious recognition reflects Christian’s extensive expertise and outstanding contributions to the rail industry.
Fellow is the most senior level of CIRO membership, reserved for individuals with extensive knowledge and experience across many areas of the rail industry.
With a distinguished career spanning front-line delivery management roles, Christian currently serves as an Operations Specialist within the Transpennine Route Upgrade. He brings expertise in stakeholder management, engineering, maintenance and renewals, train movement and control systems, people and change, among other key disciplines.
Achieving Fellow status required Christian to submit an application to CIRO’s Upgrade Panel, demonstrating his proficiency across twelve Professional Operators Development (POD) sections. The panel, which convenes quarterly to review applications, informed Christian of his successful application following its most recent meeting.
As a Fellow, Christian is now eligible to serve as a mentor within CIRO’s cross-industry mentoring scheme, where he can share his knowledge and experience to support others in their professional and personal development.
Becoming a Fellow with CIRO has been a long-standing goal of mine since completing the degree qualification and earning Member status in 2019. I’m immensely proud to receive this recognition, which reflects the expertise I’ve developed throughout my career. I look forward to using my knowledge and experience to support others in advancing their careers and achieving their goals.
