TRU Driver Training Task & Finish Group Awarded One Team Prize TRU Recognition Awards
Congratulations to The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) Driver Training Task & Finish Group (DTTFG) on being awarded the One Team prize at the recent TRU Recognition Awards.
The DTTFG was created by TRU Digital, with Mercury3 Consult providing project management expertise to the group.
Paul Gill, one of our Senior Consultants, was embedded within the team following his onboarding into TRU Digital and remained involved through to the conclusion of the workstream. Paul played a key role in coordinating activity – structuring discussions, aligning stakeholders, and guiding the group toward a clear, shared way forward.

The TRU programme represents a major step forward for the rail industry in the north of England, with the implementation of the European Train Control System (ETCS) across the TRU network – one of the most complex signalling transformations undertaken in the UK.
This award recognises the collective effort of TRU Digital, Network Rail teams, operators and industry partners, who worked collaboratively to develop a practical, cost‑effective and future‑ready approach to driver training and ETCS readiness.
Mercury3 Consult was delighted to contribute its subject‑matter expertise as part of this collaborative effort, helping shape a solution through open dialogue and a shared focus on long‑term outcomes.
